Hey, I've been learning website building for a while now and am finally grasping the concept of it all. Anyway for most of my websites which I have been making to get more practice I have been using the Spry menu bar in Dreamweaver, for one website I designed them in photoshop but they didn't come out as well as I thought and you are much more limited to what you can do with them. Well I am anyway until I learn more advanced stuff. I was just wondering what you guys do to design Menu bars so I can get some ideas. Roosta
Well I don't use any software like Dreamweaver, Just make an HTML list and style it with CSS to however you like it.
Styling a cross-browser CSS menu by hand is a chore. Explorer is notorious for needing some tweaks for making drop-down menus appear correctly. The spry menus in Dreamweaver work pretty well, but you might check out the suckerfish series of menus too. Just google suckerfish and you'll find several variations. If you don't care if there's a little javascript involved, look over at http://www.dynamicdrive.com for some decent menus. I've used a "chrome" dropdown before with good results.
