Memories of your First Day

How many of you can remember your first day on Adsense? Especially those who go back to the heady days of early 2003.

I can remember it clearly. We were quite heavy Adwords users and were invited to start Adsense on its day of launch. We had absolutley NO idea how it would take off but added it to two mature websites with a combined PIMPS of around 5000 per day.

After an hour we logged in and to our amazement we had made $19.

We were hooked, it seemed like our we had found our golden egg, 20 bucks an hour for nothing. We added it to all our sites and then couldn't stop checking stats at least every 5 minutes or so. By the end of the working day we were well over $150 and climbing.

...............ah well back to reality (the present), if only it had all stayed that way.

Ah, glory days. I missed that boat unfortunately, but it's still fun checking those stats and hoping for the big payday.

I remember the first day I put AdSense up on one page. I got a handful of clicks and a couple of bucks and I remember thinking oh my god, this works... and it was away from there.

I remember when i started Adsense like two years ago... when i got the message "you were accepted into Adsense" I shouted at the top of my voice YES!!! Like that my mum came in and said are you all right? I said i got accepted into bloody Adsense!! Haha

I was thrilled! Remember i was only 12 years old.... my dad basically made the account for me and it was under his name and all.... now one year later im 13 years old and im making $20 per day :D

I do OK now but its a lot harder work than it was back then mainly due to the fact that Advertisers can now opt out of content ads and the fact that competition is far far higher too.

I sold that particular business and having just checked the sites they dont carry Adsense anymore.

For what its worth the main thing I have learned is not to put all your eggs in one basket but I covered that in another thread.

    hmmm i remember those times.
It was about 15 months back.
I was searching for a new sponsors and tried google adsense, after one day i earned 3 dollars and tought: man is this crap to?
Still i heard people saying they were earning some major money out of it,and i tought ,hey why not give it a try.
Then i got a (uchu) top day where i earned 5 dollars,i know i was telling all my friends i was earning 150 dollar per month :p.
Then i made more sites and got more visitors and grew from 5 to 10 to 20 to 30 to....now almost 40 dollar a day.

my very first website was a very very niche website about an almost cult 'rapper' in the UK. I noticed that there wasnt a website dedicated to him yet he was very popular.

I made the site and within 3 weeks made it to PR1 for the key word I was targeting. Since then its been at least $100 (or £60) a month from adsense for me.

Once you get hooked, it seems like the possibilities are endless. Ive just finished my 2nd site today (www.cheese-burger.net) and cant wait until google picks it up.

    You are probably very happy.

Considering u need a lot of traffic to reach those numbers I take it that your site is quite old. Now think how much you could have earned by now with adsense if only you signed in eariler.

Not so happy now huh, HUH? ;)

first day of adsense.. hmm.. let's think.... I've earned $6 with only one site what was like a miracle to me and I've don't even thought about what if I have 10 site like that or 100 sites... Now it's just like multiply my first earning for every started website

you cant multiply your income of one site by the number of other sites you have. Other sites can get lower paying ads and they can also have less traffic. You can have 1000 sites, but maybe only 20 of them get enough traffic to make any money.
