I have a site and want to make it a membership site. I bought Amember which is a membership software but want to use Joomla as my content manager.

Has anyone ever done something like this? What are some good templates for a site like this?

If I'm not wrong amember has a Joomla component. If not you will find a lot of memberships component on Joomla.org.

Go there, and press the extension menu, and serach for membership component. It is a danish company which I can't remember the name of, they provide really good service.

Hey, I am following some video tutorials which teach how to make a membership site with joomla. They teach step by step on how to do it and build a membership site just like them. I have written some of it in my lens also.
But was unable to complete the videos because I had to finish off something before the deadline.
I will be writing more there. You could take a look at my squidoo lens though.

    Hi Chingo,

I'm currently developing a membership site using Joomla and aMember. I've
done initial testings and so far so good.

You can get a Joomla plugin for aMember. The plugin will allow registrations on
a Joomla site to redirect to the aMember sign up form. The plugin will then add
any successful signs up (i.e. after payment has been made) as subscribers in
the Joomla database. The plugin also allows the member to sign in both
aMember and Joomla through the login form.

    I think it's a wonderful combination.

With respect to template, I just bought one from JoomlaShack
    (http://www.joomlashack.com).

    Regards,
    Bina.
