    Hello

I am starting a niche membership site limiting to 200 paying members.

I have found a few sites selling software to set up and run a membership site - eg memberstar

From experince - what is the best one I should be using for my purposes?

    Any help appreciated

    Thankyou

It really depends on how the site is setup. Are you going to have a forum for these 200 members? Or will they just need access to files to download or access to material to read? If you plan on using a forum, I would use amember.com, but if you don't plan on using a forum then I would go with easymemberpro.com. Amember is able to integrate with vBulletin, which in my opinion is the best forum platform available. But easymemberpro appears to be a lot easier to setup and get up and running. I don't know if integrates well with any forum software. Check both websites to come to your own conclusion.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi

    Thankyou for your promt response.

No I won't be having a forum. The need will be more to download files on a regular basis.

I shall look into your recommendations

    Thanks so much again

In that case definitely go with EasyMemberPro. DavesOnlineVideos.com has a video on that software and it works really well for the downloads functionality. It will let you disable prior downloads for new members. If you had the site running for 2 years, then a new customer would only have access to downloads from present to future. If they wanted access to prior downloads you could set it up to allow payment for those downloads. It is very nice.
