We have had a report that a no post member is contacting members with domains for sale expressing interest in buying. At least one claims to have been scammed. Please be careful.
I believe the person reporting the incident, but have no proof. The transaction did not go through the the bidding system and PayPal. Hence the reason for my post.
Would you like it if I banned you or denied you some of your priviledges without concrete proof? The alleged scammer was reported to be using one to these three Expanceswap.com Satotrade.com, Crex.exchange services. There is an interesting post on reddit regarding these three. See: https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/hbjb4i/expanceswapcom_satotradecom_crexexchange_are_all/
Hi Smyrl, I know this isn't related to this thread but I would like to hire a freelancer from this forum to engage a service which isn't possible in my region but it seems I am not able to post a thread in the Services section. Is it due to me being a newbie so I have insufficient privilege? Please advise.
You have to receive three likes from three different established members to be able to post in the BST section of DP. Or, you can pay for the Premium membership and post in that section immediately.
@Smyrl How about restricting sending private message until member has some posts, like the restriction of posting in buy/sell section. Is that something vb forum software allows? By the way, thanks for the warning post.
If we restricted private messages to new members, they would not be able to participate in certain buy, sell, trade threads as things now stand, where seller requests being being contact via PM.
Above member, DarkSolo" "is already saying that he cannot post in buy/sell forum as he is new. So if he cannot send PM as well, until he can start posting in buy/sell, then it won't be a problem for him. Once he has enough permissions to post in trade section, then PM service is also active. That is what I was thinking. People able to post in buy/sell, they receiving PM from members who cannot post in buy/sell, that is also risky...
Jeet, thanks for bringing this up. It's kind of a catch-22 for me as I am not allowed to post a thread in the buy/sell forum as I am a newbie and when I try to search a related topic about the discussion I wanted to bring up, I received a warning saying this should go under buy/sell but I can't buy or sell yet! Frustrating! Not the best way to welcome a newbie but okay.
If your two likes are from two different people, you are just one great post away from being able to post in BST!
@jrbiz Come on, click the LIKE button for him, let the guy post!!! His other 2 likes are from 2 different members.
I'm kind of an old fashioned DP-er. The first three likes need to be earned with good, helpful posts.
After the third like, the rest of them become virtually meaningless, unlike my tinfoil hats which are guaranteed effective no matter how many you get.
