I am a mechanical engineer and have purchased MechanicalEngineer.org Any appraisal, suggestions - Most welcome!!!!
"Mechanical Engineer" is a nice keywords & also taken in many TLDs / ccTLDs... Undeveloped, I'd say high $XX IMHO
I was expecting more from it. May be I shall not even think of selling it....To me it's memorable and I think it will be good for making email IDs for mechanical engineers. .org fits as it can be an organization for mechanical engineers. Further suggestions????
The domain is so long its unattractive for an email IMO. I'm an Engineer myself so i understand your passion to use the domain. I guess it could work, but people use gmail yahoo and hotmail, so wha can you offer except for the name? Are you trying to make money or just offer a free service?
No, I have bought it....I am not interested in making money of it.....But would like to make a community for engineers especially mechanical ones. The start might be with free email ids.
It's a nice name for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_engineering But it's long and unattractive. Web Addresses are like phone numbers, they should be easy to remmember. mech.org <--- this is what i call a good domain name
Yeah, i'd go with a community/forum and also job postings in geographic-specific locations. Also, any affiliates for equipment/books that mechanical engineers would purchase.
Are you guys thinking in terms of a reseller or an end user? This name is big but how come it is hard to remember it? I think a profession name is the easiest thing to remember especially when that profession belongs to you. I think this name is the easiest thing to remember for mechanical engineers. Is not it?
It confuse me with: MechanicEngineer.org MechanicalEngineering.org MechanicEngineering.org EngineerMechanical.org EngineeringMechanical.org EngineerMechanic.org See what i mean when you have 2 words stick together.
"Mechanical Engineer" and "Mechanical Engineering" are the most popular keywords IMO... I don't know about the rest
But why would i choose to use: , Long email address 28 characters. Is there a need for MechEng email. Not really who cares if it says "MechanicalEngineer" I'm an engineer but dont want to advertise it all the time. PS: I hope you didnt pay more than $xx for this domain.
I think abbreviations would work e.g. is an average length email address. I have noticed engineering concerns prefer .org as well e.g. engineering.org sold for a real high price which shows that .org has a good potential as well. I paid much higher than $xx May be u r correct that it worths not more than $xx but i am sure no one holding such a domain would prefer to sell it in $xx range. All domains related to engineering profession such as civilengineer.org electricalengineer.org etc. are registered since 2000. Selling in $xx at this point means selling at reg free as people would already have paid in $xxx range as a renewal fee. If you know any person selling an engineering profession name reg. since 2000 in $xx range let me know and i will pay you 100% commission.
I just figured through Google adwords, searches / month mechanical engineer = 10,00,000 /month mechanical engineering = 12,20,000 / month jobs mechanical = 673,000 I guess, that's a good ratio.....What you say?????
i think this domain is hard to remember and perhaps if you did not want to sell this domain you can developed by your self and you can also get any earning from this website. Cause as i know mechanicalengineer.org can get more visitors and good key for mechanical engineering forum or mechanical engineering news.
In my opinion... the site will most likely only target mechanical engineers. For those people... that's their life... that's their job title, it's what they went to school for... believe me... they can remember "mechanical engineer". I think it's an excellent domain name and very easy to remember for its target audience.
