Who here use mechanicals? And what ya thing about them?? This is mine- had it for 3 years and still works perfect. The keys are simply amazing.
I used to have them in school, but never had the curiosity of buying one at home. I have always went for the cheap solution when it comes to keyboards and with a lot of multimedia features. Since last month I got a mionix zibal 60, with brown cherry mechanics and I love it. I don't think I can go back to an usual keyboard anymore.
they are loud and obnoxious. saying that i do love my new one; logitech g910. I prefer chicklet w/ membrane since the travel distance is about 1/10 of that of even my shortest throws buttons you can get for mechanical, and the silent operation. you cant really find a keyboard with fancy leds and extra programmable keys in chicklet/membrane so i went with the best solution. mechanical keyboards are all just hype. sort of like how they fluffed up IPS monitors. now due to the "hype" factor we have a technology from the 90s costing us more? mechanical keyboards were standard also back in the 90s, membrane overtook them because they weren't an annoyance for others in an office, now back with "hype factor" costing way more money than in the 90s. i love my keyboard, my issue is however with the "hype" = "$" for something old and dated.
