What's the value of .me domain? At the standpoint of an SEO, is .me domain worth it? Is better than .com, org, and .net?

I think .me was a flop. A few months after it came out, about 3 dozen people made a lot of money on premium .me domain auctions, but after that, I have not heard a word about this extension. It's the classic case of a new extension that got a LOT of hype and great marketing.

And what is your basis for saying so? Please substantiate your case/argument. Thanks.

.me domains would only be acceptable if you were using your own name as the domain AND the site was taotally a personal site. Not a profit producing business of any kind.

Business domains should stick to .com only if at all possible. Unless you have an established brand with a certain domain name you need to stay with .com for business.

Too early to make conclusions. .me was created last year. It can't be a .com at this time. .com has been there since the start of the internet. Let's give .me a 5-year grace period, and I'm sure it will rank highly.

by the way, why is a .me domain name so expensive?

So you buy a .me domain and sell it off? Exactly how much money you make in an investment of 1,000 dollars?

I don't buy them anymore because most of the "good" ones are gone. i might buy an expired one if see there's potential of some ROI. I originally spent about $300 when .me first started and sold most of them for about $4000 total.

Can you please share the name which got you the maximum ROI from your list of .me? Apart from names likes ask or hire etc... I do not see any great potential with .me extension! :(

    Regards,

Hello AdamFL, where do you buy expired domains? Here in DP? I know no other trustworthy place where to buy expired domains. Thanks for the tip.

registrars coming up with newer and newer domain extensions trying to squeeze some extra money from the same old market

i have started my own domain registration business in .WHATEVER TLD extension.

Register .WHATEVER you want! 1 year registration in .WHATEVER zone will cost you ONLY 199/year! Who wants to be the first owner of SEX.WHATEVER?

I agree with you. It may not gain popularity today but who knows ten years from now. It could be a precious gem.
