For my part, I went with the idea to sell to an end user. I am a wine lover, so I registered those:

    cabernetsauvignon.me
    chardonnay.me
    merlot.me
    sauvignon.me
    shiraz.me
    syrah.me
    zinfandel.me

Update on Godaddy, they are now calling everyone to express how sorry they are for selling sold names. I was nice and didn't bust their nuts and they thanked me. The guy mentioned that some people are giving them a really hard time.

So far I am about 90% refunded according to them.

Thats good they are calling people. Honestly I wouldnt blame GoDaddy for any of this. You can only do soo much preperation on your side before something like this hits the market and cant expect it to be 100%. Especially with the popularity of these sales. Somethings bound to happen when they are getting completely flooded.

Are you serious? I don't care if they are phoning people and grovelling - they should never have got themselves into a situation where they felt they had to. How come everyone is complaining about GoDaddy but nobody is complaining about any of the other registrars that sold .me domains last week, such as DynaDot and Namecheap? GoDaddy have more customers and make more money - how can they justify screwing up so bad when smaller companies didn't? I can accept honest mistakes but this is just pathetic.

As for my refund situation, I ordered over 60 .me domains in total and 57 domains on one single order - I paid well over $2000 on that order alone and my refund for that single order is almost $400 short of what it should be. They are still yet to refund me fully for all the domains I didn't get. How difficult is it for them to look at my account, add up how many .me domains I've got then refund me for the ones I didn't get?? It took me about 15 seconds to do the basic maths, yet still more than 48 hours later I don't have my money back. They are a joke.

yes... they can call me also, because i have something to say. And it will not be a funny word!

When godaddy's clock reached 00:00 to start registering .me domains i immediately clicked the go button to try to register MONETIZE.ME
... and i was already logged in... just in case!

Conclusion... Godaddy made me wait 15 minutes to finish the order and i lost that domain: MONETIZE.ME

The domain was registered almost 2 minutes after the beginning of registrations in other company.

Now... who can say that, in a normal situation, the domain wasn't mine at this moment?

How much made me loose godaddy in this case?

    MONETISE.ME ........ How much?

    Time will tell me.
But, for now, i'm really not happy with what happened to me

I wish to not receive any contact from them.
It's better... because i'm an educated guy and i can loose my mind!

Ginger....., I can understand where you are coming from. At least they should give people their money back and then make the calls. I was sort of expecting something like 2 free domains or some sort of credit, maybe even a free ice cream cone. As a business owner I know how hard it is to pick up the phone and admit to screwing up so I have to applaud them for doing so......even though they are pawning the task off on hourly employees.

Millions of people probably did the exact same thing you did. Shit happens life goes on... Dont see how its GoDaddy's fault.
