Personally I think some people are getting carried away - remember you have to build real websites on these domains.. just because the name sounds good in an english sentence doesn't mean it will make a good website.

I only bought 1 .me, VALENTINES.ME. VALENTINE.ME is in the reserved list, so I thought the plural was a good pickup, and I already have a valentines image search product that will go nicely there. :)

    It's not just your opinion mate, it's fact. They have stolen $359.82 of my money. I paid for 57 domains and I got 8 of them. 57 - 8 = 49, so they should refund me for 49 domains. But no, they've refunded me for 40 domains. 49 - 40 = 9, and 9 x $39.98 = $359.82

I might be a little out of touch with the laws in America, but isn't it illegal to steal someone's money?!

I exceeded my limit (not-verified) with paypal and used my Amex at GD. Out of well over $1000 in rejections that I paid for so far I only got a few hundred in refunds. They have a few weeks to refund my money or a quick phone call to Amex will correct it in a hurry.

I just love how people will bill you in 1 second but they will take days or weeks to issue a refund.

Who says? I would assume that a fair percentage of the recent sales were made so they could resell them at (hopefully) a profit. Out of the 25 that I bought I might only use 5-10 of them.

Any idea why are its.me and hello.its.me having different whois records?

I know that its.me is reserved by registry but what about hello.its.me? How is that possible to register the subdomain?

its.me is a different extension under the .me tld which may not be on the reserved list but if it is, the fact its a 2nd level ext may explain why the whois results are different if not reserved and if its not reserved, then you know why its different lol (i may be wrong)

Yeah it's illegal here too, ever so slightly.

IMO if the domain could not be registered because of errors in their whois database (namely domains showing as available which shouldn't be) then you should receive a FULL refund, no questions asked, why should you pay for THEIR fault.

You should be able to rely on the information they give you as being truthful and accurate, just like they excpect you to give them correct details as a customer, you are entitled to expect the same in return from them as a company.

i asked this because i read the other day on domain.me that their first application received is hello.its.me so i'm wondering how is that possible for anyone to apply that?

its.me is also found inside the reserved list.

i'm also thinking if hello.its.me is a gimmick from them?

edit: this is the news on hello.its.me that i've read http://www.domain.me/index.php?page=12&news=82

I got a refund last month for a domain that "suddenly" became unavailable mid landrush...
(I think it added up) will have to check.. I may email Godaddy as well, just to see why this domain did not go to auction like all the others.

As i said - its.me is another extension under .me which would be why its reserved, hello.its.me would just be the application for the domain hello.its.me under the its.me extension.

If you check out the .me page on the whois site in my sig link you will see it listed as a 2nd level extension.

As you said obviously a gimmick to promote the domain if you ask me lol.
