Any speculation as to why? A buddy of mine has had his site come back blazing yesterday/today, but I haven't seen it on any of my sites yet... I'm keeping my fingers are crossed...

This is a Google thing...

I just checked and the page has FINALLY gotten it's cache updated - Dec 26, 2005 00:43:35 GMT

I checked earlier today and found nothing so, don't lose hope - this seems to be rolling out.

I have heard of others in other forums that are speculating that sites were removed for the holiday season.

it just might be the case.

This experiment page went from position #16 on November 20th to Position #331 on November 21st. It has been in the 400s until today!

How convenient...

I tend to agree. The timing is just way too convenient to not be a dirty tactic by Google to get more adwords advertising dollars...

Well ranking #130 still means squat as for sales.

Lets wait it out and see what happens!

But I would tend to agree that something odd is going on.

 

True, but from the watching I've done, positions usually jump from 4xx to 1xx before going to xx or x. But maybe that's just me. It'll be interesting to see how much more(if any) it recovers... And if my sites do too, of course... ;-)

This is THE first time since November 12th, that this page has had a "fresh" cache date!

The changes we have seen here were seen by a great many sites yesterday. Here is a link to another forum where this was being discussed.

I am starting to believe that Google intentionally manipulates the results around the holidays as well!

Last year this page did well (top 10) throughout the holidays.

BUT

This year... Was there anything different this year? YES! I was distracted with other projects and neglected to change my main page to reflect my Winter Sales and to Update my Winter Sales page until Early December.

Unfortunately, by that time the "die had been cast".

I will make sure my "Holiday/Winter Sales" ads are up by mid to late October from now on.

 

I can't see that. I ran 2 sites that were majorly affected during Jagger. Both recovered on the same day (Nov 10th or somewhere close to that) with practically no changes since on either one.

On one site, I haven't changed the home page in months, except maybe removing one product, adding a different one. Very minor stuff.

On another, I put up all my christmas specials and put up a bunch of related stuff too. I did that probably end of november, beginning of december - I forget now. This site's homepage changes every time I add new products (read - new bills to pay) or the seasons change.

Neither seemed to help nor harm the sites since beginning of November and things continue to be very stable right now too. Though, there seemed to be a BL update recently and each site lost about 1/2 their "visible" BLs

 

Could be....I stopped using Adwords in August but decided to start up again last week (nothing to do with Christmas sales) The price I paid for my terms kept me in position #3 to 7 on the first page.
This time for the same terms and price per click I am down to the 6th page through to page 10 .

I don't get it. The page is at 127, but the keyword tracker image has it somewhere in the 20s. Is the keyword tracker image for the old page?

 

I dont think the image updates I think its an old one
