    I was hoping to spend time looking at Caryl's site/page and the others that have been and currently remain in the top ten for sleeping bags to see if there are some substitive differences why this page has jumped around in google's serps while some of the others haven't.

    I haven't had any time to do this at all. Sorry.

    My instinct...or first hunch was to try and look at the depth of bls. and some of the other "ranking elements" to see why this page tends to jump around while others don't.

    I did a short cut review;

    Its just a guess but I scanned bls for Caryl's site and 2 at the top of sleeping bags. I looked at the initial links listed in Y and MSN's listings. In some cases I believe you can find some of the most valuable and strongest links at the beginning of MSN's and Y's lists.

    In any case at Y...the initial bls listed are many of the one's that came through this experiment...and are not sleeping bags listed. MSN's initial bls are sleeping bag oriented.

    I scanned 2 of the sites currently at the top for sleeping bags and there were a greater # of bls coming from sleeping bag oriented sites.

    I'm wondering if this theme aspect of bls has something to do w/the fluctuation on the site.

    I believe and saw...as did others that G made some significant algo changes back in Feb/March when this site's rankings were in such a flux.

    I think there have been some other algo changes this year. I'm seeing what I believe to be some theme related impacts on my sites recently.

    I'm just reaching and guessing at this point...but I'm wondering if there have been changes in the algos that emphasize "theme" related pages, bls, etc. with regard to ranking.

    Sorry I don't have the time to look at this in depth.

    Here is a killer tool that gets to the heart of this experiment. Found it mentioned at SEO-SCOOP by DazzlinDonna (who may be back on a more normal keel-hopefully-after hurricane Katrina).

    www.webuildpages.com/neat-o/ Neat-o totals up anchor text. Does not get to every single backlink.

    BTW the anchor text on one bl to my site is benzer sayfalar. What the hell is that. Either sounds like a medication for aching bones or a name from Pakistan.
