McCain: Minor Stroke? Bell's Palsy? What up with his eye?

This is is no way intended as some sort of hit on McCain but a serious question.

In watching his announcement that he suspended his campaign and in recent photos it appears that there is something wrong with the left side of McCain's face. I have had family members with facial paralysis so this is something that I am sensitive to.

Problems which relate to just one side of the body are sometime stroke related and I have never seen this on John McCain before. Does anyone know if there is anything official regarding his apparent condition?

Here is the video of McCain talking about suspending his campaign and at :48 in you can see he is speaking and his left eye is visibly affected.

Here is also a clear photo:

If he is suffering from some temporary medical condition that may explain his desire not to appear in a 3 hour debate Friday where it would bring tons of scrutiny to his age and medical condition. Perhaps this is something that is temporary and a delay would be very beneficial.

    Any thoughts?

    EDIT:

I see this is blowing up all over the Internet and blogs:

That makes some sense to me as my family member suffered some facial paralysis after surgery. Why would it just be appearing now though? Did you ever notice this before - it seems much more obvious now for some reason. I wonder if it can be triggered by stress.

McCain may have to fully release his medical records - not the silly you can peek for a couple hours thing he did before. He is the oldest person who would be President and his medical condition is a legitimate issue.

Maybe he's trying to appeal to Nader supporters?

I actually believe I have noticed this before in watching him speak.
    Could be wrong though.

When there are no valid points to make about ones policy, instead we resort to attacking their appearance. Lovely. Democrats have come a long way.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yes as Northpoint pointed out you already 'attacked his policy' quite nicely.

So who are the democrats who are attacking his appearance in this thread?

McCain's droopy left side of his face seems to have resolved itself to some degree, it yesterdays videos it appears nearly back to normal. I would not be surprised if he appears at the debate now. I wonder when the next occurrence will be and I wonder if it is stress induced.

LOL, that is a scary thought. I think a Hillary - McCain battle and debate would have been much more entertaining and more issue based.

Agreed. At least you'd have two intelligent loons rather than one crazed community organizer.

Personally, I'd rather have seen Huckabee and Edwards.

Maybe it was Bell's Palsy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell's_palsy

I have seen TONS of people with Bell's Palsy, from as young as 30 to as old as 70+. Nobody really knows what brings it on and half the time, it disappears as quickly as it came....

Soooo scary to wake up one morning and half your face is frozen, yikes! My cousin had it when he was 30 and thought he was dying from a stroke!

I've got an aunt that had the Bell's Palsy condition. They didn't seem to act like it was as big of a deal as much as it was just embarrassing for her. She is fine now.

Republicans want a dumb president so he does what they tell him to do, (an intelligent one may oppose the idiotic stuff) dumb and sick is even better. Need a proof, look no further.
