So as an update to my blog posting earlier today, I've actually made quite a bit of progress. I have not submitted any articles yet, but I have been working on developing my site to promote the product. So far I have a blog installed with a template, and an actual review landing page that I developed using Weebly. My whole idea here is to use the blog aspect to get listed quickly in Google, and the blog will contain a little bit of useful content, but I will be sending visitors directly to the landing page when promoting the site. I've also decided how I will be marketing, thanks to Norb's thread which some recommended to me. I will be submitting at least a couple articles per day to Ezine and GoArticles, creating a couple Youtube videos per week to promote the product/site, and possibly using Craigslist/Yahoo Answers for the same purpose. The goal is to get at least 100 unique visitors per day going to the site ASAP, and to expand on that over time. As I previously mentioned, I'd like to make my first sale within a couple weeks, so we'll see how it goes.
100 uniques a day looks like a good objective. Yet you'll have lots of work before making that many visits a day.
Article marketing seems very slow. I get around 10 per week only. How many visitors you all getting from articles? I had 9 live articles currently. If I have 90 live articles, will my traffic increases to 100 per week ?
It's kinda slow for me to. But they say they mainly use article marketing for their 4 and 5 figures affiliate sales a month. Actually most of them write over 10 articles day.
Definitely. That's why I'm going to be trying to target at least 3 different methods of marketing. I'm trying to get finished up with my writing work so that I can jump into Affiliate Marketing more fully.
Right now I'm targeting multiple niches. I try to add atleast one niche a day and start writing articles on that; while writing articles on the other By doing that, I slowly increase my workload, but maintain it as well. But, I think you should start off slow in the beginning - because like most article marketers in the beginning; most simply don't know how to make the most of their work.
It sounds like you very focused and on your way to success, don't get discouraged if you don't see sales like you would believed they would come. Best of luck to you!
Thanks for the encouragement/advice. I really appreciate it. So I don't have much of an update for the past couple days, except I've spent them getting organized and finishing up my writing projects. I did end up picking out 4-5 article topics to promote one of my products, and I picked out a few topics for the other product. My plan is to write the articles at some point this weekend, submit them to Ezine and hopefully get them approved. I've already put up a couple articles there and have had them accepted within a couple days, so I think things will really go into high gear next week.
I agree. Unfortunately, I won't be able to until Monday at the earliest. This week just is not going well personally, so I have to deal with a couple things before I can delve into this.
Woo hoo for productiveness! Today I was able to register 5 different .info domains from GoDaddy for $5.95, which is definitely within my limited budget. Four of those are for affiliate products I'm marketing, while one is for a blog I hope to launch pretty soon. I also was able to find a landing page template that I can tweak to fit what I'd like to do. You can see an example of my first landing page here. It's still being built, but when finished will include three product reviews. Obviously, I'm mainly focused on promoting that first one () but I wouldn't mind a sale from the others. Feel free to critique it....I love a little help. So tomorrow, my goal is to finish building my landing pages, as well as get a lot of writing work done. Then Monday I plan on writing at least a couple short articles per product and submitting those to Ezine. I also want to do my writing work. That's about all for now, I guess, but things are looking up!
Ok, I am also very new the affiliate marketing game. I haven't even started yet I am just trying to read everything I can get my hands on right now. The part I am confused about right now is, when you create your landing page, is it supposed to be a hardcore selling page, telling people to buy the product right now because of this this and this. Or is it supposed to be more of a personable sounding reivew type of page and then note that if the viewer wants to buy this great sounding product they should go here.
There's really different theories on this, as far as I know. Some create a hardcore selling page, others create a review style landing page (like I did) with 1 or more product reviews. That's the angle I'm going with, and we'll see how it works out. But the important thing is to get your visitor to click through and hopefully buy the product.
Aright cool thanks for the info guys. Maybe I will try one of each and see how it works out. Best of luck with your sales
No problem. Journal Entry for June 29 Today my main focus has been on getting back into writing and doing a lot of freelance work. I also found the time to finish up my first landing page and wrote/submitted a relevant article to Ezine that, if accepted, ought to be on the front page of Google for the keyphrase. I'm hoping that it does well. In an ode to Nadav's journal, I'm going to keep track of sales and such with each official journal entry. So let's start things off: Number of Live Articles on Ezine: 0 Number of Pending Articles on Ezine: 1 (hopefully 3 tomorrow) Number of Article Views: 0 Number of Article URL Clicks: 0 Number of Hops: 0 Sales: 0 Profit: $0
Good luck mcar2185. Some advice on EZine Articles: 1. Write short articles (250 to 300 words.) 2. Make sure your links stand out in your resource box. 3. Bookmark your EZine Articles via stumbleupon & propeller and possibly other social bookmarking sites. 4. Make sure your titles are keyword targeted. Go for keywords with some searches but without an insane amount of competition. "Long Tail" is key. http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/ 5. Make your articles look nice. Use bold sub headings. Write short paragraphs.
Thanks for the tips above! Journal Entry for July 2 Number of Live Articles on Ezine: 1 Number of Pending Articles on Ezine: 0 Number of Article Views: 0 Number of Article URL Clicks: 0 Number of Hops: 3 Sales: 0 Profit: $0 ============== The article I submitted to Ezine was just accepted this morning, so it's quite early--no views yet. But I'm thinking that it should be ranked on the first page of Google within a couple of days, since the phrase doesn't have a ton of competition. I'm hoping being on the first page of Google equates to lots of views and hopefully some sales. I'm heading out of town tomorrow, so I've decided not to write any articles til I get back. But I think I'm off to a decent start with affiliate marketing.
A decent start. lol One article is the same as none. You need to get a few hundred hop clicks to get you self a few sales done. One article, even ranking on google and well written can get as much as 10 clicks a day. It depends on the Ranking on Goolge and the amount of Searches. Still you need at least be writing and submitting around 25 articles day to each product. That if you want to succeed in article marketing. Yet the product can be really good and the article may become Viral. That you make you sales. But that's a 1 in a million kind of thing. Just saying you need to put a Lot more into it to make any sales.
I agree, but at the same time, I'm busy finishing up existing freelance writing projects and will be out of town (without internet access) for the next four days, so I need to get caught up on other work before I can really delve into this. I'm not expecting any sales out of just this one article, but now that I have a feel for it, I'm banking on better click-producing articles from here on out.
