Maybe wordtracker is a complete waste of time....

I used wordtracker a lot and I thought it was a brilliant tool but lately I heard people talking about wordtracker and mention that it's very inaccurate.

Today I did a search and I found one result that made me cringe. Did I waste so much time and money on a tool so so inaccurate.

Here is the result.

Keyword :
i want to become a wizard with magic powers

Count :
2260

predict :
2242

So is wordtracker telling me that this key phrase has at least 15 searches a day and more.........

I find that very hard to believe

I have not used wordtracker, but heard a positive feedback about it..its first time somebody is not happy with it..

 

some of the reults can be missleading, but thats the case with all keyword research sotware, wordtracker is still probaly the best though

 

Wordtracker is the best Keyword research tool out of all "inaccurate" keywords tools around there. Try Google Keyword Analysis tool for a free alternative.

All these keyword tools give a round about search volume per month, and as you go into longer tail key-phrases, the results even even more inaccurate. Best option is to use a combination of keyword tools to get a fair idea on the search volumes.

well, you do not expect them to be perfect. they simply give an estimation of the keyword popularity.
Allow for some margin of error.

 

Wordtracker might be good to track keywords in Yahoo search but I don't think it is still sufficient.

Wordtracker has a different algorithm. It puzzles me. Whenever I use Wordtracker as my keyword research tool, I always noticed some inaccuracies in the numbers. It's not as accurate as Google's keyword tool.

And actually none in this world, if we talking about the 'complete-accurate' tool.

Solution?

Use few tools to make comparison and double check.

Never ever depends on single tool.

Yes I'm aware of the tools are not 100% accurate. But more than 2000 searches a day on a keyphrase like "i want to become a wizard with magic powers" It's just a joke

i prefer to use Google Keyword Analysis tool.

 

There is an article on seomoz.org that compares these tools and I remembered it showed that WT is very inaccurate and not worth the money anymore (they used to work well)

I don´t think there´s a tool that´s 100% accurate, but wordtracker seems to come close.

I like to use wordtracker in combination with Google´s Keyword tool. Then compare statistics.
