Maybe time to change the sites section

This is just a suggestion but i think i could be possibly time to add an Established sites section and a Startup sites section ?

In the past couple of months there has been a massive increase in people buying a domain and instead of just putting in the domain section they have stick a crappy forum or wordpress blog on it and then call it a website. Its making the Sites section even more frustrating than it already was.

At least with two sections you could at least give rules as to what you class as an established site. ?

    Feedback ?

This has been suggested before, and you note the problem. There's no way for us to determine what an "established" site is. There are also other factors that determine a site's value. For example, a new health site with content written by a practicing doctor is valuable, even if a new health site with content written by some generic content writer with poor writing skills is not. At the same time there is nothing saying an "established" site is a good site -- someone could have just let it sit for years earning ad revenue (it doesn't take a quality site to earn money unfortunately). It's every buyer's responsibility to thoroughly research any site they're considering buying, and splitting things up along arbitrary lines does not solve a quality issue overall.

Absolutely everything you have said i agree with , its just a shame to have to look through site upon site, especially at the moment in particular there are around 6 or 7 brand new forums with no value but the reg fee of the domain.

But as you said i suppose we will just have to cope with it and wait for them gems to come along

The best thing to do is probably to watch the prices listed with each thread in the list. If it's a quality, established site there probably won't be a $50 bid for example.

I will have to agree with the suggestion, what is see that
most to the sites listed have zero revenue and zero traffic, the majority are just auto-blogs or 3 page article websites
again it is hard to classify what is established and what isn't however for most of the webmasters established means sites bringing in $$

Then it still wouldn't happen. DP staff isn't going to take the time to verify whether or not sites are making money, or "enough" money, and there's no reason we should pick an arbitrary number earnings-wise and say anything above is "established" and anything below is not. Established means different things to different people, and you need to use your own judgment to determine whether or not a site is worth buying (just like people buying domains, services, information products, etc. do too).

actually, this triggered an idea that may look stupid but it make some sense, to have seprate forums for selling sites:
    Sits/making revenue
    sites/with no revenue

    same idea or Freebies...
