Hey all, wanted to throw this post up as it might help some of you that are struggling with AdSense. I'll start by telling you why I gave up on AdSense, and am extremely happy that I did. When I started with AdSense it took me about a month to make 10 dollars. This didn't discourage me as from what I've heard that is pretty normal. A huge waste of a months work in my opinion. I didn't give up though, but looking back I should have. For me, the day I really started making money was when I joined a CPA network. Originally I was making blogs on blogger, thankfully those days are long over. So why am I ranting about AdSense so much? Because to really do well on AdSense you need to invest. I'd like to let you know that there are better ways to make money online. Sure that's my opinion, but I am positive the average CPA advertiser makes multiple times more then the average AdSense advertiser. Not to put anyone down, but if you are making nearly nothing and putting in more work then its worth, find a good CPA company, sign up, and find free ways to promote your CPA leads and sales. Youtube, Yahoo Answers, Myspace, for example. And lastly, DP is a great, great forum, this is what started me off in IM. But there are 1 or 2 other forum I won't name that has information that just isn't here on DP. Understand the difference between white hat, black hat, and grey hat. I really hope this post convinces some people that very few people make enough money to live comfortably off AdSense. As in no day job. Sometimes you need to put the past behind you and move on to bigger, better things that require less work. Auto pilot preferably.
I agree with you that the income potential is more thru CPA and Adsense will take much time to convert. But those who are focusing on Blogging should focus on that and place adsense ads properly. CPA takes much time convert and too much effort on promotional things as well,. Thanks for sharing such great info.
IMO, Adsense is good to start if you want to earn online. But no doubt CPA has more money but it requires some more work than just setting up a blog for Adsense.
It is true that there are huge potential money in CPA compared to adsense, but in my opinion it is best to combine them. For example not everybody visiting your site is gonna bye smth, some people are looking only for information, but they still might click on the ads. On the other hand, those looking for purchases might click on the ads and get the product service from there, which of course deprives you of way too higher commission. In my case I put affiliate product in the first part of the pages so if visitors are looking for them it is right in front of their eyes. Further down is the main content along with the ads in a column. Sometimes there are no sales (just like now) and if it was not the money from adsense I'd have to kill myself considering that I am living only with the funds from my own sites and do not have any freelance or daily jobs...
CPA needs lot of effort when compared to adsense. Following simple steps can help us make more money in adsense
I finally just got my first adsense check after three years lol, I made my first cpa check in one month, f adcents is what I think
If adsense is so bad... why do 90% of people choose to use it ?... if you chase after crappy niches than yes you wont make much, should you choose a good niche and work hard on your traffic and backlinks then you will succeed.. Google made a 1.7 billion dollar profit this year despite buying 2.5 billion dollars worth of sites... Sick of people sooking about google...... work hard on your content and build many backlinks for your site and you will get nice Cheques !! Simple
IM gurus FYI (US only... for now) http://www.yugatech.com/blog/blogosphere/ftc-rules-to-fine-bloggers-up-to-11000/ Quotable quote:
Agreed - I have one site that gets 25p-£1 (=40c-$1.60) per click for virtually all clicks. That site is one where I did research to make sure that the niche paid well in adsense before I decide to go with that niche.
major downside of adsence is that you lose your traffic, when they click the google ad they go somewhere else, if you have a great product or content then you can make money and people will stay on your site and probaly come back to spend more money
