Maximum word count for the URL

Hi, I did some SEO on one of the site, which made the URL seem a bit lengthy due to the key-words conversion.

    i.e. http://www.calpolyonline.com/forums/university-newsletters/announcements-community-adult-3095.html

Is this too long and could give the search engines (Google, Yahoo, and MSN) a second look at my site and possibility of putting a red flag?
A link would be helpful, thank you in advance.

Using the Word Count on Microsoft Word, it came out to 87 characters excluding the http://www.

i am sure if SE have any problem with long URLs but most directories won't let you submit that big url IMHO.

ps: if you need to add something to your post you can always 'EDIT" the original post thus avoiding bumping the thread.

I have seen some very, very long urls with combination of words and numbers. This often on sites that get a lot of repeat visiots, infact, I don't think they expect muchsearch engine traffic.
