I don't think there is a maximum PR jump (but, it is known to be extremely infeasible getting many quality links to reach such high PRs).
Propeller managed to leapfrog from PR0 to PR7.

I have seen it go for a pr 5 in a single jump. But it really needs some serious and hard efforts to pull it successfully.

Now!!! Around how many links on an average do you think will make PageRank 4 site? remember we are discussing here a new site with 0 PR to jump to PR 4 in a single update.

its possible to have an N/A to PR5 with one update. I experience it my self on one of my blog. didn't really know how I did it but my guess of course, lots of quality links.

@ corlock Yes quality links but how much will you put that number to coz you are having a first hand experience, just try to come as close as you can to give it a number, much better if you could give the average of the PR of sites that linked. lets see how close we get to this now!

If I remember correctly then bigweblinks achieved PR7 from PR0 in a single update though it lost its PR during this update as Google went hard on directories (dont know why) and dirjournal (great one) also achieved PR7 from PR0 in the last update.

There is a differnet between PR jump from n/a and jump from 1 PR or 0 PR !

Our site http://www.hawkhost.com/ went from a PR0 to a PR5 in the most recent update. It's not something we were shooting for or anything but of course it's an old domain and we had our old PR4 domains pointing back to it so that may explain it along with our advertising push.

But as far as traffic is concerned it's been pretty much the same as always when it comes to search engines.

What i think is maximum Jump in one update is PR10, if there are as many links as to Adobe in one single update your site will even go PR10, you need to have lots of backlinks for it tough.

Lots of sites i saw PR0 to PR7, PR6 even few of mine as well.

Yes bigweblinks went 0 to 7, also i had a subpage go 0 to 7. I do recall a site that went 0 to 8 but it had a PR10 backlink.
