Maxbounty.com ~ Earnings Discrepancies?

Before I start, I'd like to mention I've been a MaxBounty publisher for over a year now and have enjoyed good success with them.

A little about me: I run several high traffic Wordpress blogs and I use MaxBounty to place highly targeted affiliate ads on the site. This has been my business plan for well over a year and for the most part it has been extremely successful. Recently though, I've had some extremely odd swings in my earnings. Site traffic is generally pretty stable across the network, and without giving too much away, here is a recent example:

24 hour period: 400 click-throughs to the targeted ad (this does not include the clicks from non-eligable IP's which get diverted to other offers)

Generally speaking, over the last 3-4 months that kind of volume would generate anywhere between $20 to $50 in that 24 hour period. However, within the last few weeks particularly I have noticed some days where my EPC has been down to $0.01/$0.02 when it's usually hovering around $0.12. During this period, the traffic sources (95% organic search engine traffic) has remained the same, nothing has been changed, so I simply cannot justify the huge discrepancy in figures.

Don't get me wrong, I've been very happy with MaxBounty for the most part, I just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing anything like this. It tends to be happening once or twice a week and then conversions pick up to normal levels.

Perhaps I'm just being unlucky recently and reading a little too much into this, I dunno.

I'm guessing you're talking about an email-submit offer? Some of these advertisers conditionally set their tracking based on the historic quality of your leads. It usually takes a few days for such an advertiser to determine the quality of your leads, then reduce the amount of leads they declare accordingly. A big drop usually indicates lower quality leads.

    JP,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to this. You're right, I'm talking about email submits. You're reasoning sounds fine, I just found it a little alarming that things have seemed pretty steady for 6-10 months and suddenly I'm taking a bit hit. Could I possibly PM you my account number so you could take a look, just so I know if you still hold the same view?

    Thanks,
    WebDev

Just had a chat and with your affiliate manager, he'll be contacting you to discuss.

You're right, a change after months is unusual. Perhaps a new source of traffic?
