Hi all, Does anyone know is there is a limit to the number of keywords you can have per account/campaign/ad group. I attempted to uploaded over 50,000 keywords into 1 campaign, broken out into 10+ ad groups. But my adwords account would not accept it. I even contact Google, and they said they have already raised it for my account. I have heard people have done 100000s of keywords, even millions.. How is that possible then?
Maximums are 25 campaigns per account, 2000 groups per campaign, 2000 keywords per group. It is therefore possible to have 100 million keywords in an account. Some of these can be increased at Google's discretion. Note that the 25-campaign limit is active campaigns. You could have more which are paused. Not sure about the groups - I never reached that limit - but I believe in total, whether paused or not. For the keywords, that includes all variations that you use, including negatives. So if you use "round widgets" as a broad, phrase and exact match, that's 3 keywords. Once you reach that limit in a group, you can't add any more, even if you delete as I recall (created such a group by mistake once). I believe there may also be a limit to the number of ads in a group as well. But I've never reached it, my max is around 40, not all active of course. There is also a limit of 50 image ads per *account*.
