Max flash per page?

    Hi,

I want to add multiple .swf movies to one page each displaying forum member information with a couple of buttons in etc. I was just wondering, will having many of them slow the whole page down?

i.e. will having lots of seperate swfs make everything run slowly even if they aren't doing very much?

    Thanks,

depends how big the files are and how fast peoples connections are.

it might be best to have 1 of those pre loaders before the whole website appears.

it will slow the page down if there are many.

Depends on the file size though. If they are really small, then not really unless there are a lot on the page.

Thanks for your responses so far,

There will be 10 per page, each will be about 70kb, however they are all actually the same swf just with different variables being passed to them so I believe it will only need to be cached once.

They will contain an animation but I was thinking that if I only made it play when they are clicked it wouldn't slow things down too much?

Hope the site still works and looks ok for those who don't want Flash PLayer on their machines.

You could possibly have one Flash file with Actionscript setting variables, but I don't know how that would go. I do know you could have javascript on the page directing the Actionscript.

The only part which i would realize in flash would be the header. If someone doesnt have the player, he probably wont see the navigation. And what will he do ?
    Right ! Leave ... ;)

Well it is on a flash arcade site so I don't think that would be a problem. I've decided against it now though as people will probably have this window open alongside a game + it'll slow the game down!

make it and test it...that would be the best thing to do.
