I have not watch it,but i had read someone's blog that talk about this video, mattcutts said the brand is not very important in adjust.
Thank you for this. As usual, Matt never let inside out and all things is about quality, authoriry, trust and pagerank, etc. which most of us are already know. Matt stated they try to return the best results and I do agree with him. However, I think this is a big update and not a small one like Matt try to convince us to believe. This is a mass change for most big keywords as we evidence.
its good that Matt release the video. Other wise SEO guru keep saying about Branding Branding and more branding. P.S On DP forum I dont think so people discuss more on Brands. Wise people are always found on DP
Thanks for the link. There has been a buzz going on about Off-Line big brands being given some special weight. Now that has been put to rest thanks to this video.
Really? ... Read this then http://www.seobook.com/google-branding But what i dont get after reading this is if they do.... wouldn't that hurt there advertising budget? I mean with the way things are right now (economy sucks) why would they help the big guys whom would gladly use adwords anyway? ...maybe to force more webmasters into using adwords? thx malcolm
Well to Google the ideal situation is that all the top ranked websites are still pumping money into adwords. Then all the low ranked websites get forced into using adwords too. So by pushing to a brand/trust based algorithm, they are pushing some of the smaller websites down and likely increasing their adwords revenue.
... And pushing more and more webmasters into black hat techniques... I've been telling you this for some months now.
I wonder how many people searched for "Eclipse" in Google since this video came out? On a short note, I haven't noticed anything different in my serps because I go after long tail keywords. It's so much easier
Basically if you've been trying to rank for any brand keywords well you're kind of &^%$#* right now. As mentioned long tail is the way to go. Thanks for the video, its only 3 minutes long worth the time.
