Well, learn from our guide Video Summary: Question: Are stats from Analytics (bounce rate, time on site) a factor in a page’s or domain’s ranking? Answer: There is a really short answer which I will give you in a minute, but I will tell you a little story first which is at PubCon a few years ago. Which is a WebmasterWorld’s conference, somebody said; “Do you use Google Analytics and in web spam?†And I said, “Not only we do not use it in web spam, I promise you my team will never go and ask the analytic’s team to use their data and helped through that problem. And I got asked this at the most recent pubcon and I was like “I know we don’t use it in web spam, I don’t know about all of search quality, I don’t think that we do. To my knowledge no one uses it. So, when I saw this question, I went ahead and I emailed the most senior, the most knowledgeable person who would know about this and I said; “We don’t use Google Analytics in our ranking in any way do we?†and the one word reply was “Noâ€. So, there you go. Taken a long time to say relatively a short answer which is Google Analytics is not used in search quality in any way for our ranking. Hope we do not confuse on this further. I think analytics helps in page ranking by keywords optimization, linking to multiple article and writing follow up article
I agree with Pristuno, even if it lacks value to Google directly... it has benefits our rankings indirectly by giving us some of the information we need to identify where traffic is coming and going, what to write on, what to follow up on and what to leverage. Of course, I have to wonder some days if you asked them if your content was used in your search ranking if they wouldnt tell you No just because they could. Their algorithm is proprietary and guarded even if it means lying. I can't say I blame them for that.
