Hi, i wonder if this will hit the Directory industry directly? im sure the "site wides" do come under this perview! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r2vp4x-JtU Regards, M.
Yes, search is your friend...this topic has been discussed to death. In fact a mod might just join this thread up with one of those super threads.
Those who buy site-wides or those who have the guts to buy that costly site-wides don't buy it for PR or reciprocal. Matt -&-Google are against recip[rocal --and it seems I am ahead of Google in this as I charge more for reciprocal than normal links since long. Site-wides advertise for traffic-- PERIOD. High PR is never achieved from site-wides from other directories. PR is achieved through other means. So the recent STEP of Google will never harm smart directory owners Those who r close to me and have regular chat with me kow this coming from Google stable. Be Ready for more surprises as th new Google algo is going to dis-appoint many others who has been following the stereotypical theory of gaining PR. Once Rob (an0n) - questioned my link -building approach. But after I explained to him -he understood it. I am experimenting about lots of Google's algo on one of my directory --and I reckon only 5% of my community members know about its existence. I'll blog about my experience once PR export is completed this time round.
didn't really question it. just asked why you did that. more disappointed to see you doing it more than anything.
Don't bother your brain on this one the OP has one objective to attract attention to himself, which is fine but he got his text all befuddled in his OP, hence the thread is fast going down the tubes Folks should think a little more clearly before starting a new thread, everybody wants to see folks promoting and gaining benefits from threads, posts and the forum in general But many time less haste and more thought would not go amiss, and then when folks open a new thread they created something that will have an impact Promoting G arguably the finest marketing company on the web, only helps G A more original and inventive thread will have much greater impact and focus the purpose of threads imho is not to promote 3rd parties unless the 3rd parties are directories Be more creative it pays off big time
Hi, Thanx for the tips jhnrang again i didnt know this had been discussed, but as a newbie directory webmaster, thought i would learn something here, im enrolled of site pro news . com news letter, and this came in that. Directories , with my best knowledge have 2 types of links, either listings, or links (site-wides or others)! hence the OP. not promoting, just inquisitive Regards, M.
Lol-- no. I spend a lot of time -doing my bit of analysis on everything. My idea has been based on it. K -Rob. Hopefully now you know why. My analysis has been going on --and this PR update should give me lots of answers as I had little time during previous UPDATE ( started the experiment on 28th March & the snapshot was on 2nd April) . This time I started very early and am doing experiments on links (which links are counted), on traffic and on content. Once the PR is updated I'll blog about my findings. Sorry --you will have to wait till the update. Don't want Googlers to know about it before they actually export the PR. will blog about my experiments --so stay tuned.
Aah, that's a shame, thought we had a bit of inside info there, So when in your view is the next Google PR change if any is going to take place?
