    I can't see anything wrong with using his tips. If you do everything right and keep everything clean I don't think you will have a problem. There's a lot of work and things to do with SEO. No one knows what Google is going to do next.

    HE works for Google, why would he teach you how to game them??? Let's face it he does give good, relevant information about what google respects and does not respect, but he is never going to give you their 'secret sauce'

    I think the best information he has given is the fact that you need to really focus on giving your users/visitors the best experience they can get rather than focusing all your attention on what the SE's want to see. You should definitely use the proper meta info and such, but the content you are providing to your visitors would be much more beneficial to your overall success.

    His message is very simple - be unique & creative, and create quality unique content. Start with small things and expend slowly.
    Sounds trivial, but he is right.

    And don't expect for any Google secretes to be exposed :).
