i am also waiting if he will get onto some serious issues rather than presenting his own stories and experiences. maybe he will remain like that only. For serious issues, Google Official Blogs for particular topics will be better option.
I know. I was just joking dude PS: Can anyone tell me, if my comment here can be considered spam ? Or just self-promotion ? (read the link it leads to too, because only then will you understand my cold remark in the comment). Thanks.
Spammy? No. Self-promoting? A little. But you are pointing out that even the big boys do what we small and medium size webmasters do, and with Matt Cutts recent comments on the same topic - buying and selling links - I think it is okay. Addressing the article to Matt personally is what Ben may be having a problem with, but Ralf seemed to enjoy it... I find your article interesting, and pointing the situation out directly would have been off topic.
Matt Cutts it's there not to give us "Google secrets" the main purpose of his blog is to get information from webmasters about their algo/problems/new services and so on . Like bigddady datacenters , they needed testers to see where they have problems but even with this they failed After Mediabot indexing pages thing I don't trust (I had a hard feeling about them before too ) Google / Matt . And ... Why would Google give you their "secrets" , that's the biggest value they have in their company . This is their gold mine . Lastly I am more thinking to diversify traffic , not to look at Google rankings in case something will happen with Google rankings my websites will still receive traffic . Look for link partners who can bring traffic . Don't put all your eggs in Google's basket as it's not a solid one
Well, I wouldn't call him an overlord. Just think about who his contacts are. He has heaps of contacts that are willing to give info and ideas which of course he would hand over to his boss/es. Tha's what he is paid for. He is not a puppet IMO. If he was, he would sound just like George W or every other polly. He's just a guy who's well connnected and knows his stuff. Which happens to be SEO expertise and very well employed by the big "G". Give the guy a break! He has helped a lot of people out. Col
