I find most of his posts very long and having little information while people think that they are getting some insider information from someone who is having a complete insight of what is happening in G And most of times, the issues discussed are common points around which SEO revolves. I have a feeling that People find Matt as an authority and want to believe everything he will say and trying to scrape something that they think would be a secret.
Yeah, it seems many people think Matt Cutts is out there to give advice and secrets but obviously he isnt. I watch Matt Cutt's blog for stuff like announcements rather then secrets. All of his advice or secrets revolves around telling people to keep it clean and whats in best interest for google.
i have been following his posts for nearly 40 days and i found most of times it is just simple talk or some fun stuff. its nothing like sharing secrets, but are experiences of an employee at G i would prefer to spend time on WMW and find things on DP rather than looking at his blog and digging in lost posts
I agree that those are the best places to start looking for real information, but I've also found that the comments/questions on Matt's blog are very informative, usually moreso than his posts.
thats true, the comments are good to read. but i think that those comments are from people who are already on DP or WMW
When you start analyzing all of his posts, you begin to realize he is the Minister of Disinformation.
People, he speaks for himself. Not for Google. He is NOT allowed to speak officially for Google on his blog. No Google employee is.
If you look at his blog main page, I think it hints at certain posts here in DP. (How's Lake Tahoe?) I sure hope he saw this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=921870&postcount=36 I'm not out to make enemies, I am trying to understand... and to help others do the same. And no telling what he is made aware of and what not, he was unaware of the crawl cacheing proxy servers being online originally.
After finding out he may read these posts, I've changed my opinion of the guy. I now believe he is doing Gods work! I nominate him for the nobel price in....um.....helping the average person become a better human being! Yeah, that's the ticket! Matt Cutts one for all and all for one!
I think we should read Matt's post, but should not act accordingly. According to him excessive recips. are bad, but I can see some sites with good recips. I don't take Matt's post seriously, but I could be wrong.
I always read his blog. He never gives too much away, but it's always interesting getting a viewpoint from someone inside Google. He's pretty much confirmed some of the things that I've been thinking.
I don't trust him. Well maybe not so much him as I do not know him, but I don't trust anything he says or anything Google tells him to say.
Matt cutts is the unofficial voice of Google, the only person who seems to have any weight, therefore has a following, I strongly suspect he is steered by google, googles voice to the SEO and Web world. This has been mentioned many times, however some of what he says will definetly benefit you, on the other hand Google wants you to know what Matt cutts is saying , therefore its your choice , maybe a little more research will either strengthen his claims & announcements or dismiss them. Would we ever know if Google were using him to advise us? i suspect not.
