Matt Cutts from Google today is asking for feeback on webspam, search quality, new products, or communication. Seems as if Google is trying to make the webmaster community feel as if it is going to play a part in Google growth. View Matts Blog HERE For all those that have complaints or wish to see changes take place within Google, now is the time to voice those instead of just complaining abou them on the forums. We have an open ear, take advantage of it while you can.
Why don't they put everything back as it was before those Jagger updates? Almost all the keywords I search (and I'm talking like when I'm searching information, not keywords were I'm competing) I see lots of spammy websites, websites with stuffed keywords and misleading redirects... Now you have to go thru the spammy websites to reach your content. Sometimes MSN is more precise then Google
I completely agree with eduardomaio. By the way, SEOs might get biased while giving feedback so I'm staying away from it. What Google should do is make the feedback form accessible to the common searcher.
You know... I did a search the other day and a supplemental result was the first result. Even though there were a ton of other results. If I could only remember what the search was for...
How many results did it have!!! If it had a lot, Google was probably messed up!!! I noticed that all my duplicate contest sites are 'Supplemental Results', while the unique content sites arn't!
It seems to me like Google won it's reputation not by doing what everybody said, but by at least acknowledging everybody's opinions, at least. They were very open. Now, since the IPO, it seems they address issues when it's convenient, or it's on their to-do list anyway. They seem to keep us all guessing what their real motives are--that sounds "evil" if you ask me.
Yes Matt has that power but I dont feel he is the type of person that would abuse it. If our sites meet Googles guidelines than it would be in their best interest to rank them. I feel that Google/Matt is trying to bridge the gap between webmasters and Google. The more information they can offer us about their system, the better sites we produce and the better their engine becomes. I dont believe there is any misdirection going on here with Matt, I believe he truly wants to help the webmaster community understand what Google is trying to do and maybe allow us to offer some input as to what we believe would make their engine better for all of us. There are going to be some that dont like it cause this may help Google get rid of the spam in their search engine. Just my 2 cents.
Matt doesn't exist, he's a product of our collective imagination. Don't be afraid. Don't be very afraid. Deny he exists and you'll be just fine. Ignorance is bliss. Be oblivious.
so what you are telling here, comes down to 'I believe' and 'I feel' and what you think you might know what google and Power-Matt whoever thinks what is good for our 'community'. Sounds pretty naive IMHO.
Think back to a year ago, what type of information did we get from Google / Matt. As I can recall not much. Now it seems with his blog he is attempting to bridge this gap. What I have seen him offer is a lot more than I have ever seen coming from Google. Is he using the webmaster community, yes, but any good company uses others to acquire knowledge and ideas to improve their business models, Google is no different, nor is Microsoft or Yahoo. See this is the benefit of thinking for yourself, as humans we are given brains to make these decisions, use yours and decide for yourself. This is only my opinion. Just because I dont agree with you should this mean in my prospective you are as naive.
