Half of the readers of this forum. You underestimate the amount of free time most of the people on here have. If they spent that time building their own sites there wouldn't be a million posts talking about how little they earn in (insert ppc or affiliate program here)!

I hope you don't think I'm disagreeing! As wise man once said "this idea is ill conceived and inherently flawed" - comment #159.

u don't get traffic in ur website without link building. or do you expect all webmasters to start branding their sites in adwords spending huge budgets, small webmasters dont have such big pocket to spend funds.
even after inserting a ppc or affiliate program it never works out until they get traffic, so bottom line is if links are murdered where will small webmasters go ?

I don't buy links and I make tons of money online. Traffic is not an issue, but paid links are just easier to get if you are lazy ;)

Google is going after the sale of links rather then the purchase itself.

Also, I doubt that the sites are going to banned at all, at most they will not be able to pass on PR or link weight.

No, I get links in the normal manor. Buying links is not the only way to get links. You want tips from me to build traffic? It's called research. I've been doing this for almost 10 years. If you rely completely on paid links for your traffic, then you need to rethink your business model.

Again, how in the world is Google going to be able to tell what is a paid link and not. They can't micromanage this thing, and their algorithms would have to have AI capability to do it automatically, which they don't. There is no fear here.

Whats really funny about this is how much google has pissed off webmasters when they are the ones who really helped spread he word about google. I can't even count how many times I have told people "no don't use yahoo, use google instead. Its much better" but its at least 100. Not to mention the "ads by gooooogle" tag next to the adsense ads. All yahoo would need to do is offer a control panel to webmasters to have thier sites indexed within minutes and then do weekly payouts on ypn and in 3 or 4 years yahoo could probably take google's spot with all the webmasters saying "no don't use google use yahoo I want to buy that new plasma tv next week" :)

Exactly! They are relying on webmasters to submit reports because they know that they have no way of finding the links themselves.

I have to agree with you on that, I mean how many times have you heard about all the things googlebot can do and detect like unrelevent link exchanges and hidden links  This is probably just google blowing smoke again to make the rookie webmasters scared so they stop buying and selling links.
