Is it recommended to use all 3 match types on the same keyword?? What are the effects? I have recently started putting all my keywords on all 3 match types...
it is best practice to use broad and exact for every keyword. Phrase should only be used if broad is really hard to control
There does not seem to be a consensus on what is the best match. Broad match can be expensive as you may get a lot of 'surfers', not actual buyers. However, Matthew Glanfield of the BBO Institute, says in his excellent teleseminar on AdWords, to use broad match and narrow by using negative keywords. He has just started a free Traffic Club, with loads of good content. I can't remember the URL right now. But, let me know if you want it and I will get it to you. Regards, RPM
alright RevRPM... you really gotta stop with the advertising of the Matthew Glanfield ebook. Start participating and provide value
Hey Berserker, Help me out here. That is what I thought I was doing! I can't help raving about someone who has really helped me. How is my post lower quality than the previous posts? There is someone who needs help. Have I not contributed. Regards, RPM
not if every post you put on DP is reference to purchase the ebook. Its ok if its the occasional recommendation, but if that is all your commenting about... its going to get old quick
I would be very careful with Broad Matching - the 'Expanded Matching' functionality can make your advert appear on irrelevant terms. There's no direct benefit in bidding on Exact Match if you are bidding on the same term Phrase Match as well, though it does give you an idea of the clickthrough rate on the exact term (which is what is used when calculating the Quality Score). But if you get a lot of traffic on Phrase Match, it's worth finding out which keywords are generating the clicks (using a Search Query Report) and adding them in explicitly - again, this helps your Quality Score.
