Mastering Google used to be easy...but I've lost it!

My sites just stand still. It seems there is nothing I can do to increase(or decrease) traffic.

Did you succeed with Google in the last few months?

    What is the trick?

What change did Google make recently?

I talked to an expert friend of mine who has been doing this for 12 years with huge success. He is convinced not much if anything has changed with Google. The only thing that has changed is the amount of poeple you compete with today vs in the past.

One of my sites has gone from averaging 1000UV a day to averaging 2000UV in the last few weeks. In the same time my main site (higher ranked) has been holding steady at 4000UV.

I did some SEO on that site in June/July that may just have paid off. It now ranks just high enough for people to find it (page 1-5 on google depending on the search term), and thus gets organic links now without me needing to do any backlink work.

Patience is a virtue! If your site is new and your keyword/keyphrase is highly searched and competitive then it is going to take time. Continue making new content, continue updating your website, continue building QUALITY RELEVANT links, and continue to wait...You will see it start to increase. If you know Google then you know it isn't going to jump from 10 to 100 hits a day within the span of a couple months.

Just do your thing and you should see it double every month or so..

I'm familiar with what you're saying but this is just not true anymore for me. Traffic from Google don't move. :|

When working hard with a quality site this just don't work for me...at least not yet.

Another strange thing. Google browse my site just fine. In last month it has gone from eating about 250k pages per day to about 500k pages per day...but traffic stays the same.

I guess I just need more patience...

Yes of course, just continue building quality backlink from time to time. It will improve later. All the best.
