    Hey guys,

I have some questions on Master Resale Rights and pricing.

Why is it few people follow author's guidelines on pricing? Are there legal repercussions for this? Maybe not as they are just guidelines...

Also doesn't this affect the quality of the resale? ie If everyone is pricing very cheap, the life of resale products is going to be short or you will have to bundle them together.

Not sure why people are doing this, as most are very valuable. Take a look at Bill Gates, became a billionaire by using the sweat of others...

Forcing a set price opens the door to price fixing and restraint of trade. While you can't force a set pricing, there are methods used to control discounting. Companies can have "authorized dealers" and they can have a policy of not selling to "discounters" in order to protect their "product image". This would involve a licensing agreement that has termination rights under set terms and not just transfer of all rights in a sale.
