Hello fellow Digital Pointers, A lot of people have a block when it comes to brain storming root keywords. So, I decided to write a helpful post with some great tips to help you absolutely crush your writers block! Before I get the tips I think a definition is in order. ROOT KEYWORD = A short-tail keyword that can easily be added to in order to make it into a long-tail keyword phrase. For example: Root = “Make Money Online†Long-tail variations: = “Make Money Online Fast†or “Make Money Online Selling Photos†etc. Ok, on to my tips… "Steal" keyword ideas from your competitors! You can do this by going to Google and typing in your root keyword e.g. "Make Money Online" then Cut and Paste the web address of the top 5 or 6 websites in to the URL field on the Google keyword tool. Next, cut and paste the keywords from your competitors into your favorite keyword research tool! The idea is to get keyword ideas and alternatives from your favorite keyword research tool by using the top competitors as a starting point. Get new root keyword ideas by scanning through the results that Google’s keyword tool gave you. For example: Let's say you search for "earn income online" and one of the results you get is "earn income online business opportunity". You can take part of the resulting keyword and use it as a new root keyword. So in our example: "earn income online business opportunity" you could use the part of the keyword phrase that I've bolded as your new root keyword. Go to EzineArticles.com and use the article categories and sub-categories as your root keyword! For example: One of the EzineArticles.com categories is "Home-Based-Business" and has a sub-category "Network Marketing". You could use the sub-category "network marketing" as your new root keyword. Use training video titles as your root keyword! For example: One of the training videos I’ve watched is titled "Video Marketing", you could use this as a root keyword! Get root keyword ideas from the titles and content of webinars you attend! Webinars usually have great copy-writing and great keyword ideas! And finally pull keyword ideas from emails that are sent to you, especially ones that have good copy-writing! Ok, that is all I have to share for now, please share your ideas and if my post helped you please share it with your friends! To our success my friends! “May the Leads Be With You!†Joe P.
