Massive traffic boom on 6/27/08! Was it bad?

Hello all! My website has been open 'since 6/14/08 and has recieved 852 unique visitors! The trouble I have right now is, that only 6/26/08 my website only had around 320 unique visitors and the number of people that bookmarked my site was a 26% ratio. Now that I have so many visitors, my bookmark site ratio was 8%. How can I increase this?

How did I get this traffic boom?
I registered my website gnarfard.com using a $6.99 service for a quick 1024 registrations, and my traffic immediately doubled. I think submitting articles to articleblast was also a factor in my increasing traffic.

I also edited all my webpages to make their keywords and titles better, I think either that or the directory registration were the main factors!

How can I increase my bookmark ratio? Thanks! :D

Its quite logical that you would make more traffic if you join such means and that is nothing awkward.

If you submit your site to stumbleupon, digg, delicious or other good bookmarking sites, your traffic would increase for that day but that is just short time traffic and so do not hope that most of them would return or promote your website unless its a very good and attractive website

Ok, this is my first website so the jump was really shocking for me, but I understand now.

What can I practice to have people bookmark my site more? Just increase traffic and hope for the best? Or make a bookmark button at the bottom of my site...

Buying traffic is not a good option. Try working the SEO of your site and other marketing methods.

You should install google analytics and compare your traffic details.

But, if you bought traffic, why do you ask for a reason why your traffic as increase ?

Bookmark ratio will be higher for targeted traffic. Why do you want a high bookmark site ratio? Perhaps some of the vistors will return if they find you pages in the search results.

Ok, does submitting to 1024 directories count as buying traffic. Because I saw the service in someone's signature and thought I'd give it a go!

I agree for targeted traffic, at first my target audience was just the yu-gi-oh people that I was advertising at the forum for... and my bookmark ratio was 26%. Maybe i'll keep targeting those people and expand into other gaming catagories!

Thats is good way to bring in one way links (off page SEO)... not to bring in traffic.

did you make any money from the traffic? i find that traffic from digg and stumble upon is usually worthless.
