Massive Jump In Adsense Views But Now Traffic ?

Hi i hope someone can offer me some help i am confused today logging into my adsense account i have a massive jump in ad views but when i log into my awstats there is no increase in traffic to match the adsense views.

Yesterday i had 232 views today is is 1579 views.

I have checked my awstats in cpanel and my traffic is the same as every other day.

Is there anything that can explain this as i am worried about this as if i cant track the traffic google will not be able to and may ban my account.

What could this be ?

 

Did you set your channels correctly?

Maybe this ad is appearing on some other page as well.

 

hmm, maybe you had a traffic increase for some reason?

 

Are you sure someone is not refreshing your site like mad?

 

I had exactly the same a few days ago, for a site with usually 250 impressions a day suddenly jumped to 1200.
google analytics showed no change, awstats showed no change, no sign of a 'stumbleupon' or similar
It didn't happen again and next day was completely normal again, so I guess it was an adsense system glitch.

 

Google counts impressions, not unique IP's - when everyone is swithing 5-6 pages from your site instead of 2-3 it makes much more impressions, but number of IP's the same as usual.

 

Sometimes unexplainable things like this happen. Google testing or something

 

Aswell as the impressions i also got a large number of clicks i will have to check it tommorow and see what the stats show.

It is very strange this amount of traffic doesnt match my unique visits page views aor count of hits in my stats.

 

Someone must have refreshed the site many times...maybe thats it xD
