Massive drop in eCPM, after a super duper 2 days!

After breaking records by a bunch, the ridiculous eCPM has calmed down and now I am back to normal to lower eCPM level. What should be done to keep eCPM at that high point? I've got the same impressions, CTR, etc.

Maybe an advertiser decided to pay a ridiculous amount per clic or 1000 impressions? What were the numbers?

Bids on ads can change all the time, so large fluctations are normal - especially if you are a small publisher.

I don't want to disclose numbers but it does hurts a lot. I am seeing about 1/2 to 2/3 of what I got yesterday, which really pisses me off. What are the levels of a small/medium publisher?

I dunno.. I personally would expect large fluctations if you're making less than $60/day or less than 300-400 clicks a day.

Not in that range but still seeing huge fluctuations, losing 33% of income is not acceptible.

Hehe, it happens often here, two or three perfect days and BAM a major drop, the only thing you can do is trying to get your traffic up and make sure your ads look good. You can influence your impressions and CTR, but the CPC and CPM are not :(.

I don't use adwords but yesterday I logged into it, I was surprised about the superlow prices and especially the low costs per 1000 impressions advertisers have to pay... Google should make those higher, 20 cents for 1000 showings? ridiculous!

Same drop here as well. Seeing a huge drop in CTR but traffic is still very high. My hit happened today and yesterday. The first two days of the month seemed within range of what I had been seeing before.

That is very odd. Did Google change anything? Seems strange that we would be noticing a drop like for many publishers.

    Sincerely,

    James

The day ended, I got only about 70% of the previous day's earnings, FVCK! FVCK! FVCK!

Going to review the terms again, we're allowed say FVCK in here right?

I must say my income is declining too... don't ask me why, visitor numbers are up, CTR about the same... there must be a lot of cheap adwords users ;).

The advantage/disadvantage of this forum is you can near enough say what you want :D
Adsense prices change all the time.
You can find out for yourself, by looking at your stats. What keywords are people coming to your site with, how much are the bids on those keywords ?
That should give you an idea whether you need to think about changing niches or not.
If you've got highly targetted pages/sites then you need to expect that things will/can drop very quickly for those sites, equally they can climb very fast as well.
