Yes very odd, as i said at the time Google removed the index page count from their homepage it was just over 8 Billion. So the forum having 9.6 Billion pages would be around 90% of their index now. Anyone got a site with more than 9.6 Billion indexed pages? For everyone who suffered a de-index, did your site have subdomains?
mine had just folders like /arcade and /reviews and etc.. and for that billion page index, is there any site with a billion different pages?? i never really found one and search engine results dont count lol and i doubt even that'll give you a billion pages worth of results
Per the above quote, this is what happened to all 3 of my sites when they "popped back in" last night. This smacks of a -50 suppression penalty which is usually automated. My client Top 10 rankings have been completely reverted 5 pages (almost exactly) on each of the sites. This appears to be the case with "most" of the sites that returned last night. All listings and keyword queries are back in the index but just around 50 spots worse then where they initially started. Frankly I am just glad the sites popped back in. But obviously this is disappointing. My experience with this type of penalty is that is automatically "times-out" usually in 60-90days, though what may have triggered it in the first place, still remains a complete freaking mystery.
My site has has been re indexed last night. My serp's are about -50 also. My two main keywords still do not show up. Wonder what in the hell happened ? Why the deindexing ?
how long does it usually take for you to get your pages reindexed.. I went from 20,000 pages to 9,000. Junk links to with no content.
I think "My serp's are about -50 also. My two main keywords still do not show up. Wonder what in the hell happened ?" this is one reason - You must buy a lot of links.
You have it backwards. Google is rebuilding the index on data centers that are not visible. In a few days I would expect a data push. Its really funny that they woulf do this a couple of weeks before christmas.
Same here, all SERPs pushed down around 50 - 60 spots !!! No clue whats going on. 60 - 90 days... Seems like alot. But I am glad its back at leaste. Still have something to work on and better than nothing. But I agree, it is strange they would choose Xmas time to do this, maybe they need more adwords revenue !! Just curious, to all the ppl who got de-indexed. Did you have alot of PR juice coming in.. added in the last few months.. what ever method it may be. Maybe getting some high PR relavant links etc !!!
My friend sent in a reconsideration request last week and the site is back in google 1-2 days ago without loss of serp.
That sounds like good news. Was his site completely de-indexed on Mon/Tues this week? What did he say that he did wrong?
Exactly, what did this guy say in his reconsideration request? I could have just been "good timing" did he send it in and then the site popped back in? Also, I do no longer think this is an "automated penalty." I went over to the Google Webmasters Boards and one of the G men themselves specifically implied that for at least one of the sites that were affected, an unnatural backlink profile may be the cause. He also suggested I correct the issue and submit a "reconsideration request." This implies to me that the penalty may be a "handjob" after all and not a automatic penalty. Which means this won't time out and thus a reconsideration request to force a physical review would be the only way to remove the -50 penalty? Either way, I won't even think of submitting a reconsideration request till the end of December.
i think the process of de-indexing is still there, Googlers might have put their axes down for a Xmas celebration, but we all must be cautious, coz Google might come again with a sharpened blade.... 40 of my pages got deindexed , n todays morning, i had seen a site with PR5 losing alllllllll the pages from the Google queue, as there was no cached sign .... Oh Goddd ... wat's a devestating Xmas for that guy, i peeped into his cotact page n droped him a line to get alert, but my alert was bounced with an auto-reply saying Marry Xmas.... what a wonderful Xmas gift ..... !!!!!!!!! I Wondered
Yes his site was de-indexed on Mon/Tues this week. He has placed a couple of paid links on his website as well as some guidelines on how to purchase link ads on his site. Apparently, he didn't know that google is against buying/selling links beforehand. So all he did is to admit to his mistakes and informed google what has been done to correct the problem in the reconsideration request. The reply for the request says that it'll take few weeks for them to review the site...but the site did come back yesterday with no loss of serp/indexed pages. Anyway, we are not sure if the fast reindex has anything to do with the submitted reconsideration request or not. maybe he's just lucky.
WTF I JUST LOST ANOTHER 2200 pages, now im getting really really really P*ssd off lol, why are they doing this to me????
So is the issue here back links ? Acquired or Given away ! Did this happen because too many links with high PR were built TOO FAST ? Can all the people who go de-indexed and then Re-indexed with a -50 SERPs penalty Confirm this ? ?
Two of my established sites that ranked top 5 previously are not 'buried' in the search results. Don't know why as I've not done any changes at all.
I don't think so. But how fast is actually too fast? I have links from PR0-PR4 websites with AVR 2-3 links a week.
what I mean by TOO FAST is for example lets say... I have 5 friends that have PR5-PR6 sites and each one gives me a link since I know them. I hire someone to submit my site in a 1000 directories, just to get the name around. Both of these in the same month...can google assume something wrong is being done in this case !! TOO MUCH PR coming in to my site...too many links etc !!
