Believe me, you would be happy to know that it was a genuine mail from PP and not at all be happy to know that PayPal has been Hacked!!! (as official issues are more easy to solve than to tackle unknown hackers)

The email about Withdrawl issue resolved was sent from - (Sub: Resuming local bank withdrawals to India ). Just checked my inbox and I have AOL.

This text does not seem right to me : "We cannot thank you enough for your continued attention and patience."

and also this: Thank you, PayPal

where is An Ebay Company - Does Singapore paypal send emails like this. Come on. Moreover, talk to a manager adn not to a customer rep, please. Front agents are just parrots speaking into the phone (no offense if there are any cust reps on this forum). They are trained to do that (I was one myself and know it too well)

Actually the problem isn't with paypal....of course we all know that it is with the Ind-gov itself.
See, I am not against paying taxes, but isn't it unfair? We pay taxes for even a few cents we earn and what about all those politicians earning millions and billions of $$$ and paying 0 taxes?
Well our politicians are allowed to store billions of black money in their Swiss bank a/c's without showing any proof, but the common man is not allowed to earn a few cents without restrictions. The politicians in India are wasting money in building their statues, making money-garlands, now they are saying they don't have houses so they want houses built for CWG-2010 (each costing ~3 crores) for almost FREE... RBI should better start tracking their income sources, as the tax they'll pay will definitely make a big difference!

I have no problems with RBI - I don't mean I support them but what I am trying to say here is that AT LEAST PayPal should inform us properly. The last fiasco in Feb left us scrambling on forums, shooting in the dark, trying to guess what was happening. Again, this time there is no posting on the PayPal blog and I am sure they'll post it there in 3-4 days when they've slept their a**es off over the weekend. I. like so many people here did not get an email and we are left to investigate on our own about teh authenticity of the mails . The US customer support doesn't even know about this. PayPal takes us for granted - and why won't they when our own government doesn't care about us ... :(

You are spot on! I wonder why Paypal likes to do things the hard way. If they have time to mass e-mail lots of Indian account holders, why can't they give priority to updating their own blog about such an important procedural changes... in the first place?
Is it really asking too much to update the blog with the same content as given out in e-mails, to make people assured of the authenticity of such information? :(

    Regards,

I have'nt received any such mails yet.

Also a look at Paypal's policy updates does not mention anything about this new rule for Indians. Its for South African users though.

Great!! Now it's time for us to take some serious note of all these things and make RBI a run for their money. Just imagine if all Indians withdraw cash from the bank accounts and just keep the min amount as it happened in the US, then all banks, even SBI will go bankrupt, then will RBI really understand that they cannot take Indians for granted.

Problem: No one will do that for sure.

It;s a good thing that nobody would do this. We don't want our economy to die, right?

true in a way, but we cannot just sit and allow RBI and paypal to do what they deem right. We must make them realize of our presence and how much we are ready to negotiate given a chance. What if I don't withdraw within 30 days, will the money become Paypal's property? You know it's illegal to hold one's money without their consent, but they will show fine print of their Terms and conditions. Guess you have to agree even if they raid your house as they have said, that they can employ methods to get cash in case they think it's right

If they want taxes, fees, legit transactions, we will do it. But allow us to withdraw when we want and not when you want it. God knows what they are teaching in IIM's and other CA schools for such nerds to make such stupid decisions which eventually will lead to their own grave. Guess the Indian Govt was never bothered about its citizens, (take a look at the roads and the other facilities provided inspite of heavy taxes paid) its just they are worried about the stakeholders and politicians and businessmen who are running the country.
