Mass Email Question

I am looking to find the best way to mail out around 1000 emails to a list several times a week. This is not a list that has opted in but rather is a trade list of companies and individuals that invite you to email them your materials for their consideration. I am not selling anything at all and am only sending an email per the guidelines they have listed on their sites and in various directories.

I am only trying to avoid doing this manually but of course I want to assure the most deliverability possible. Can anyone tell me how best to do this and what I need to be aware of? Will it be best to use a service or a script? If a script, which one, and how do I best assure my emails go out? If a service which one?

Is it still considered spam if I am not selling anything and I got their email from a directory that they consented to be in for exactly the purpose of receiving the kind of materials I will be spending?

I am not great with the technical side of things so please explain assuming I am a newbie. Thanks for any advice anyone may have.

Yeah I think it would be SPAM. They must be opt-in for it not to be called spam.

    ya it looks like SPAM.
You should ask them to opt-in in your first message and if they don't remove them from the list.

Is it spam even if your not selling anything and they have published their email address for the purpose I will be using it for?

I'd question that they have published an email for unrequested advertising.

I'd look at sending a personalised email asking them to opt in - you can do this from your mass email too, ofcourse, just make it look personalised by having the person's name and company info in the content and making it very non-salesy.

It is definitely published, but its not advertising I will be doing. I don't want to give away the niche but as a fictional example, its something like this:

I am an artist and there are 1000 galleries that have either posted their email addresses on their site or in an industry source book so that artists can send them their digital portfolios to be considered for showings in their galleries. I want to import those email addresses and send off occasional emails to show them new pieces, without doing this by hand.

They want artists to send them their stuff, this is their business as much as its mine, I cant see how its spam under these terms but i want to be safe. Any further thoughts?

I'd send them an email with an explanation of what you are doing and why and include an opt-out. After all your "art" may not suit their "gallery" (or whatever it is called in your niche)

I'd run the risk of being called out for spam so long as you can prove in each and every example that you had a legit reason to be contacting the business and their emails were obtained legitimately.

The reality is that while many will confirm, many wont. Even though it is legitimate. Anyone who has ever tried to transfer a list has no doubt experienced major losses.

My question at this point is, how can I send out these emails? What service or script would be best for these purposes, assuming I can prove that all addresses were obtained legitimately.
