Masking Sub Directory

I would like to Remove my blog which is in the root folder and replace it with my forum which is currently a sub directory. Are their any ways of doing this without having to transfer my forum files one by one into the root? I was thinking about masking the forums location so that it appears to be running in the root but I have no clue on how to do this and if it will affect seo.

 

Just select all and move it directly via ftp.. and move the blog files or delete them if not needed.

 

thanks but what about people who bookmarked the forum, deleting the forums sub directory would just leave a blank page right?

 

Yes or just set a redirect and redirect it to ur main forum address
