Masking and google engine

    Hi,

My site is masked so every time some one visits the original URL it is forwarded to another server and the original URL remains in the address bar.

So my question is,,, is this set up bad for search engines? It would seem better if the URL was on the landing server.... but are there significant benefits of switching the URL over to landing server?

    hope that made sense..

    Thanks

Why do you want to mask your site? This way is not good for SEO. Google doesn't want to be index any maskings of URLs.

Either way, with or without IFrames, if you read the Google Webmaster Suggestions you will see they clearly said that you shouldnt do it at all.

Ok thanks, for the comments, that is what I wanted to know.

...the old site was on a different server and domain was on another host, i revamped the new site on my server space. I was hoping it wasn't a big issue just because transfering the domain to my server was a bit of a hassle.

So I guess I will go through the hassle...

    Thanks
