Marketting through affiliate links

    Hi everyone,
I know there are many forums that prohibit to place links to my site where affiliate links are, it is interpreted as "spamming".
I personally don't see anything wrong in sending people to the personal site with an affiliate link with great discount or good deal as actually it contributes to people and everybody wins! I still feel that by "spamming a forum" I can bring value!
Are there any forums that are OK with that, where I can place links to my site with an affiliate links?
    Please let me know
    Thanks,
    Vadim

If I understand you correctly, you are under the impression that you may not place a link in your forum post (or signature) to a site owned by you that contains affiliate links? That is not the problem - thousands of useful sites with great info also happen to contain affiliate links. What some forums do not allow, is a direct affiliate link in your forum post or signature.

I agree but I think it depends on TOS of specific forum, few forums may not allow you to add affiliate links in your signature.

People are very careful of clicking on affiliate links. Why not having a link in the sig-file to an opt-in page, and recommend the affiliate program in the newsletter you send to people.

Spamming a forum with links is just a great way to get people to distrust you.

What you just did is fine..

That is not spamming.. I understand spamming to just be posting non-sense and leaving your affiliate link in there.

If you contribute to the forum with useful information and you mention an article with more useful information related to the topic and you have affiliate links on that page, as far as I know that is not spamming that is good marketing.

So that is my understanding of what you are trying to say and it sounds ethical and legitimate to me.

If you ever want to join forums where you can blatantly advertise you might want to take advantage of these forums below because I use them everyday and get constant traffic and I even get some PR aswell.

I know, and I was afraid to be banned as it happened on other forums!
That is why I brought it up here to clear it up - not to spam!

    Any other suggestions or forums?
    Thanks,
    Vadim

It isn't allowed on this forum either
    From the faq -
Don't spam the forum with things like:

Affiliate links (they are allowed in signatures though)

It's commonsense approach - if there weren't forum rules against it, it would be wall to wall people kindly informing us all of the fantastic offers that they get a percentage from.

See I already got infraction on the link that I posted:rolleyes:
Yes but I didn't put an affiliate link, I put a link to my site where an affiliate link is!
    What is wrong with that?
Why not to put a separate forum or section specifically for these type of posts?
