Marketting a shopping community...

    Hi,
I'm a reseller for computer & electronic products. I'm currently selling on eBay and I wanted to create a community of buyers/sellers to bypass eBay, in the long run.

I plan to advertise my site on eBay, in my own auctions... I'll ask my members to ask their questions on my forum, give discount if they buy directly from my site, etc.

I also plan to add my site on Froogle.

At last, I plan to buy adwords PPC visitors.

My community is located at: http://prookle.com/ & the shopping section is at: http://prookle.com/sr_classifieds.php

Like I said, everything is still new... I'll finish adding my own products this week, then I'll start advertising.

Anyone has more ideas on how I could promote my site? Please share your opinions.

    Thanks all for your help,
    Prookle

I think you might run into a bit of trouble advertising your shopping site on Ebay, they have strict rules about that. Your niche is very competitive so it won't be easy....try getting hold of some very cheap ???? and selling them as a loss leader to get folks to sign up, or giving them away for free?

    good luck
