Hi.
I´d like to build a "marketplace" site. where people can buy stuff at special prices from a various of individual suppliers
It would be like Amazone, E-bay, besides IT should NOT be an auction site

Main structure:
*I'm not seller, only administrator.
*Many shops / chains will be sellers of special offers.. making their profile (so maybe 500 seller profile.
*They will individually put on their offers like "76 pieces of XX brand men-shoes / off 50% ends 18 of July"..and
*There will many buyers, (several thousands) who needs to make an advanced profile, and product-filter like:

*Shoppers will only receive info about chosen categories - f.ex
*Printer refill
*Brother printers
*Model 5438
*At a minimum of 45% off)
*I will not recieved offer from "XXX" shop-chain
*I will only have offers from shops nearer than 15 km
etc.

However the "product" fields must be few and short, like when you create your product at E-bay. Choose categories, price and maybe pictures. (Not like a "normal" inline shop with may 50 information).

Does anyone knows if such an add on / solution is available ? or have other suggestions?

There are two ways to achieve your requirement.

1. MVS with osCommerce.

2. There is a multistore concept in eCommmerce.

This can be achieved with osCommerce/Magento/Zencart.

You can do it - BUT it will be very hard to compete with the big boys!

Hi Peon.
Your right. But for my project, I have a very special target-group / original idea. The idea is not to copy the Amazon / E bay concept (your right, forget to compete with those guy's). I just need the same structure.
Actually I will not even need "put in basket", as people will need to go to the seller..

The structure you've explained sounds very similar to Etsy.com. It's marketplace for mainly handmade goods, and the customer purchases the product directly from the vendor. However, with etsy there is a shopping cart since customers can buy from multiple vendors. Do you plan on facilitating the payment processing or is everything handled through the vendor's website?

Hi Renee.
Thank you for your input.
The meaning is that individual shops must create their individual special offers to get costumers coming to their physically shops and buy here.
(There is a special concept about the offers..)
For that reason, I will at first not use any basket on the site. However the option should be open for later on, if the concept expands.
