    1. A single point solution

    2. Some revenue for DP

    3. May be better fees to the advantage of DP users

    Apart from this,

I did lot of transactions and didnt complete the payment using the buy now button either because the seller was also from India or because I was not aware of the system or because I was not aware of the rating system.

Now my status says 8,12,0 (8 paid, 12 unpaid) but in reality, I have made all the payments (Either offline paypal payments or through bank transfer)

Not sure how it will affect me after the transition.

There are already escrow services out there that could do a better job and for less expensive than we could. Why not use them?

Hope we will have one of those attached to DP soon and we get to pay through here and avoid unpaid markings :)

Otherwise so far not felt the need for an escrow till date here.

So you don't see a need for an escrow service, but you would be willing to use one that wasn't as good (since it's not what we are focused on), and one that would ultimately cost more than the existing good ones? lol Makes sense... :)

    :) Take my scenario.

Marketplace Instant Pay is in existence and out of 20 times, I have paid 8 times through it and other 12 times I have not.

All these 12 times is because the seller is from India.

So I was just thinking, on these times, I could have used and escrow from DP (although it costs) and pay through the system and avoid unpaid stampings from the system :)

Also, if a person really needs escrow, the new rating system will show the transaction as unpaid (Since he will not use paypal through the system)

Anyways, this is a great system. Well done.

    May be the suggestions are

    1. Not to allow a negative rating for a buyer if payment is done
    2. Allow the seller to stamp a transaction as paid (Do not allow a rating for this type of transactions as people may misuse it)
    3. Allow the seller to rate only if transaction status is unpaid.

Here is easier solution. When you see:
You are inviting the "unpaid" status by clicking a button for a transaction you cannot complete in the required manner. So don't click the button, instead PM the starter of the thread and just pay him the way you have been doing... but without clicking the button on the thread which is what is causing you to show you did not pay that way.

Shawn can correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it, that is all you need to do.

    1. Yes i completely agree and have already decided this is how I want to deal with Indian sellers in future (As I am also from India)

    2. But unless I click on buy now, someone else may also buy that and by the time the seller sees my PM/email and close the thread, he may end up having 2 buyers. I may loose out.

I was just trying to think and see if small logic can fix this scenario.

As I told earlier, my biggest worry now is, when the new system is out, my profile will show 8 paid, 12 unpaid. Where in reality, I have paid 8 through DP, 11 out of DP(Bank transfer) and 1 dispute where a seller tried to cheat me by selling copy paste articles and I forced him to refund the money (The guy was also temporarily banned in DP for this - I think). I think there should be an option for the seller to mark as a payment as received.

A dp member ordered 1 PR writing and submission and he paid me through the instant pay I have included in this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2550930 after verifying the content quality. But he couldn't submit feedback to me. :-( Why? Is anything wrong in my thread?

What about threads where the buyer is the OP? Like contests...?

Seems like getting rid of iTrader will just hurt those types of users.

I won an auction and paid immediately. Now the seller says he has got a better private offer from another buyer so he will refund my payment and give the domain to other guy. I want to ask is this type of behavior allowed on DP? What do the rules say about it?

Yes this is the auction. All went well in the end. Seller has now pushed the domain to my account. :)
But I am still curious. What would have happened if he had sent me a refund instead and sold the domain to someone else after I had won the auction?
