Amazing feature! Slightly off topic, do you mind sharing if the script is propriety or a 3rd party one. Thanks in advance
I think we have a small problem here. Sellers have option to receive instant payments after the buyers clicks "buy it now" but when I disable this feature my paypal email address is still accessible from the sale thread. So buyer is still able to instantly pay to the paypal address in DP system. My old paypal account was limited and I forgot to change or delete it from DP system but unfortunately I had a hyperactive buyer who went ahead and paid using that paypal address. If I choose not to receive instant payments with paypal and choose "No" as an option my paypal email shouldn't be visible.
You having a PayPal address and you allowing instant payments are two different things. If you have a PayPal address on your account, users can verify it regardless if you accept instant payments or not.
It would be great if you provide (not just an option for a Buy It Now price, but also...) the option for a drop-down list of price packages (for those offering more than just 1 price choice for a single product. Example: Single domain license, Multiple domain license... etc. ) Buyers for the second option won't be able to make the transaction via Digitalpoint because sellers would only be able to input 1 Buy It Now price, so then the rest of the transactions made for the other packages wouldn't be recorded.
I seem to be having trouble with the Instant Pay feature.... I have a thread setup where the option is selected to use instant pay, but the buyer can't seem to pay me. There is no button on the thread to pay, so looks like I have to do it manually outside the system... Is it only fully setup in some categories of the BS&T? I'd like to get some record of the instant pay feature on my account, but seems like it never ends up happening. I've accepted instant payments before back when it was really new, but surprised its not working for me now.... What am I missing that I am doing wrong here? I guess I'll have to make some coffee this morning after all.
It's category specific... if you look at the thread creation in that area (pick WTS): http://forums.digitalpoint.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=102 There is no "Buy It Now" option for that area. The real issue is that it's displaying the "Hourly Rate" as a "Buy It Now price" on the sale itself, but that's actually a mislabel since it's an hourly rate.
Ahhhhh. That makes sense. Thanks Shawn. Are you planning to update it to eventually cover all areas and other options, like others have suggested with drop down price options? Could offer quantities too then? Limit the offer to x orders.... Is there any other way to use the Instant Pay option on threads in incompatible categories? Thanks again Shawn.
Yeah... there are plans to make the system work better with variable quantities and pricing. The whole system is more or less being rewritten from the ground up. Buyer ratings being completely different than seller ratings, you have more transparency (like you can see who's been involved in PayPal disputes, who's giving refunds, etc.) Feedback can only be given on stuff that we know money actually was exchanged (Instant Pay since we know about the transaction), you can see if someone is running up their feedback by selling a lot of low value items (you can see the dollar amount of each feedback, etc.) It's one of a LOT of things being worked on at the moment... but it IS being worked on.
Great Great feature. Love it. Only I need to be careful not to click on Buy Now if the seller is from India (As I am from India, paypal do not allow transaction between 2 Indian accounts - funny policy by Indian government) Shawn, request you to not mark UNPAID for transactions between 2 Indian accounts. Can it be considered? Any Indian clicking BUY NOW will get a unpaid stamp for sure if seller is from India. Nice feature and waiting for other features also to be rolled out.
We have no way to know what country a PayPal account was set up in. The seller can cancel the bid if they want.
