Marketing with Coupons

I have nearly finished loading an online shop which I am making with products and I am looking to market it with coupons at first. I'm not sure if I should allow the recipient of the coupon a certain amount of USD off or % off all products they buy at one time.

Would the % off be more attractive?

The price of my products range around $5 USD - $10 (they will be raised when there is interest in the site), what kind of percent do you think I should allow users to have off? Or how much USD to do you think they should be allowed off.

Stock cost basically nothing so I am making a full profit. ]

    Thanks all,

    Jake.

The higher the percentage the better I guess.

    50% off is pretty impressive.

I'd go with a percentage over a fixed sum. It often seems like a better overall deal.

    Just a thought!

I'd definitely choose percentage at least if the prices are as low as $5 to $10. Would you prefer a discount coupon of $2.5 or HUGE 50%? :D
