I am just playing around with using blogger as a marketing tool for my website, This account has no adsense on it and will be used to sell my products. Anyone have success with this appoarch?
absolutely - if you are willing and able to add good content that people are interested in reading - make sure it's pinged all about with the major feed aggregators...and did I mention to post good content regularly???
Yes, you must add new and original content to your blog on a regular basis so the search engines keep coming back to your blog to see that you have added new content. You can use your blog to connect with your visitors and potential customers on a more personal basis.
May I ask why you would not want to use adsense ? I thought adsense is one of the best online ad tools.
As long as you're not splogging, blogger is great. Use it responsibly, post great content, ping and promote consistently and you should be fine.
I think many people that visit blogs are more of a target for marketing than people that go to forums.
I was not thinking much about a blog site to support my website until I read how many folks at DP had blogs. So in November 2006 I logged onto Blogger created my blog and started posting 4 -6 times a week. It has been 4 months and the results have been better than expected. Since all my posts include my keywords my blog is being listed at Google and Yahoo along with my website for my main keywords. I am now getting 30% of my unique website visitors from my blog.

YES google loves blogger. When I first got into IM I made a blog on blogger like 3 years ago about an amazon product that had only 4 pages and I added some adsense ads to it. Basically I had NO clue what I was doing with seo or anything and it somehow landed up on page 1 of google for its main keyword phrase and consistently makes me adsense money weekly! It did take about a year for that to happen though.
yes, blogger is the good way of promotion and also can create good back links for you business. with blogger you can update your users and can target multiple key phrases to attract more visitors to your business.
Marketing with blogger or any blogging system is still a good idea as long as you are doing the things that makes it actually worth through providing good quality and relevant content.If you are doing blogger; great idea. If you just throw enough crop content, still it is a bad idea.
