Hi, i was thinking, is it a Good idea before developing a website, i build my audience in Facebook Fan page? For example, if im coming up with either a classified website or deal website, I can generally put it in Facebook Fan page, so that way i will know whether developing a website is good idea or not? Please help?
You can do that, building fanpage first will work as your have more fans to come. But it will be better if you can build your website at same time too.In that way,you can link your site and your page to each other, both will grow.and with your website, you get free choice to add any content you want.
It's good idea to build a fan page on facebook, but make sure you can have better ideas, feed backs from them and it would be help to build a better website for the same. Also you can promote both at a time.
Absolutely no harm in doing both at the same time. I'd suggest that you have a functioning Facebook page by the time your website goes up - so you can have a Facebook link to it from there. Build up your Facebook fans, keep directing it to your site from there to optimize and maximize traffic flow!
My biggest worried is, if im going to start a daily deal or classified website, how on earth i going to get people to post on my website?
There isn't an actual rule for this but if you want to create a good facebook page you'll need, first of all, good own content and for this purpose you'll have to build a website as a content generator. Also, a site will give you the possibility to rank better in search engines results so there will be much more chances that more people will know about you and eventually will like your facebook page.
Get your website up and if it's a classified ad site, I suggest you just post the heck out of your stuff and keep reposting if it doesn't sell. Eventually people will catch onto it... it is a tough niche with Craigslist out there... Maybe if it was something specific like car parts or whatever might be easier..
I personally would make the website first, and then make a fanpage for the site afterwards. Not many people are going to be interested in a standalone Facebook page, whereas if you have a URL and a site to support you when you make the page and advertise it, it'll be a lot better for you to gain users and active and returning visitors.
Whenever I can I always build my brand first and then it allows you to use your social media for a pre-launch and then your actual launch. Lets face it we often build mailing lists before we launch a product so why don't more people do this for social media?
I suggest you to build your site in the same time as you're building your FB page! Many people think that they should do one thing and after that some other thing. I think that business requires building things all together, simultaneously!
